Holmfirth Christmas Remembrance Evening

Holmfirth Christmas Remembrance Evening

T.W. Birks & Son hold an annual Holmfirth Christmas Remembrance Evening, the event is complementary and open to all. The families that we have looked after over the last year are sent a special invite along with a helpful guide to bereavement and Christmas time.

Date and Time

Our annual evening of remembrance, took place on Tuesday 15th December at 6pm.

This year, the service took place at St David’s Church, Holmbridge,HD9 2NQ. We thank Rev Nick Heaton and the church for their hospitality. There is a large car park available behind the village hall.

Further information about St David’s and its location is available on their website.

About The Evening

Our Holmfirth Christmas Remembrance Evening, is an opportunity to remember those we have lost, primarily over the last year. We have a short service, including carols and candle lighting, followed by the decorating of our Christmas tree with stars dedicated to those we love and see no longer.

Afterwards warm mince pies and mulled wine are served.

Our Christmas Remembrance Tree

Our Christmas tree was decorated at Holmbridge Church, it was then moved to be on display in our family and reception room at Holme Valley Funeral Home. Where the rest of  individual stars with the names of those we have looked after and had the privilege to undertake the funerals of from the last year were added. The tree remained on display until January.
